The agricultural and livestock showcases in Tanzania, commonly known as “Nanenane,” carry significant importance for Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). This is particularly underscored by the fact that SUA plays a pivotal role in the agricultural sector and serves as a notable producer of experts across various agricultural domains.
These exhibitions also serve as a valuable platform for SUA to exhibit the findings of diverse research projects conducted on campus. In doing so, they contribute to the education of the local community about the most effective approaches to agriculture and animal husbandry.
On August 1, 2023, in the Eastern Region, the former Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Honorable Mizengo Pinda, officially inaugurated these exhibitions held at the Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere grounds, situated within the Morogoro Municipality in the Morogoro Region.
Prominent leaders and stakeholders from the agricultural, livestock, and fisheries sectors were present at the event.
